SNEECH, Harry Elijah. General Merchant and Estate Agent. Born Upino, Lithuania, 27th April, 1887, son of Zalman Hirsch and Freda Sneech. Educated at Kelem Yeshiva. Came to South Africa 1905. Justice of the Peace. Established in Edenvale since 1909 and a pioneer Zionist in the district. Committee member for 15 years of United Hebrew Institutions of Germiston. Member of the Edenvale Rotary Club. During World War II served on the Governor- General's Fund in charge of Edenvale District. Awarded medal for his services.
