GREENSTEIN. Ephraim Jacob, M.Sc. Agric. (Stell.). Farmer. Born Stellenbosch, Cape, 16th September, 1907, son of Elias and Mary Greenstein. Educated at the Stellenbosch Boys' High School and Stellenbosch University. Previously Agricultural Chemist with Division of Chemical Services, Agriculture Dept., Pretoria; Horticulturist. Hon. Secretary, Pretoria Branch of S.A. Chemical Institute, 1936-37; Chairman, Kruisriver Irrigation Board, Ceres 1959-67; Member, South African Chemical Institute; Member, International Society of Soil Science; Foundation Member, Cape Town Hebrew Congregation, Keurboom Sports Club. Served with S.A. Forces in World War II. 1942-1945, S.A.E.C., 100th Aerodrome Maintenance Company. Married Margery Sacks, 21st June, 1934; one son, two daughters. Recreation: Bowls.
