Educated at the Stellenbosch Boys' High School and Stellenbosch University. Previously Agricultural Chemist with Division of Chemical Services, Agriculture Dept., Pretoria; Horticulturist. Hon. Secretary, Pretoria Branch of S.A. Chemical Institute, 1936-37; Chairman, Kruisriver Irrigation Board, Ceres 1959-67; Member, South African Chemical Institute; Member, International Society of Soil Science; Foundation Member, Cape Town Hebrew Congregation, Keurboom Sports Club. Served with S.A. Forces in World War II. 1942-1945, S.A.E.C., 100th Aerodrome Maintenance Company. Married Margery Sacks, 21st June, 1934; one son, two daughters. Recreation: Bowls. Add.: 12, Kenmain Gardens, Main Road, Kenilworth.
