the late Pauline and Maurice Ostrofsky. Educated at Benoni High School. Was
Accountant, Benoni Municipality 1948. Chairman, Johannesburg Branch, S.A.
Jewish Ex-Service League 1963-65. National Treasurer, S.A. Jewish Ex-Service
League. Was Chairman, Transvaal Zionist Youth Council 1936; former President. Hebrew
Order of David, Benoni and Bloemfontein Lodges. Founder and Hon. Life
President, Bloemfontein Branch, S.A. Jewish Ex-Service League. Former
President, Bloemfontein Hebrew School. Helped to establish the United Hebrew
Institutions of Bloemfontein in which he held office as Treasurer,
Vice-President and President. Was Hon. Treasurer, S.A. Jewish Board of
Deputies, O.F.S. Committee. During World War II served with the S.A. Service
Corps and was commissioned in the field. Past Chairman, Orangia Bowling Club,
Bloemfontein. Member, Orchards Bowling Club, Johannesburg. Married Hodo Ziman
1937; two sons. Add.: 22, Page Street, Yeoville, Johannesburg.
