JACOBSON, Daniel. L.M.S.S.A. (London), L.R.C.P. (Edin.), L.M. (Dublin). Medical Practitioner. Born in Lithuania at the beginning of this century, son of Wolf and Sarah Jacobson. Came to South Africa 1910. Educated at Marist Brothers College and Universities of Cape Town, Witwatersrand, London and Dublin. Chamber of Commerce Gold Medallist. Railway Medical Officer and General Practitioner in Johannesburg; formerly Medical Officer of Health, Umkomaas, and Railway Medical Officer, South Coast Natal. Is among the Founders of the College of Physicians, Surgeons and Gynaecologists of South Africa. Pursues Jewish cultural interests - was Top Prizeman, United Hebrew Congregation and among the first to take Hebrew for Matric. Married Bessie Meltzer, 1932; one son, two daughters.
