Council Member, Vereeniging United Hebrew Institutions; Chairman of Vereeniging United Hebrew Institutions Building Fund. Member of Macauvlei Golf Club, Sappersrust Club and Vereeniging Mens' Club. Served with South African Forces in World War II, Lieutenant and Captain in 36 Coy. S.A.E.C., Major on staff 8th Army O/C. Twice mentioned in dispatches. Married Rebecca Mann, May 1950.
