STEIN, Leon. B.Com. Director of Companies. Born Johannesburg, September, 1918, son of Mike and Sarah Stein. Educated at Jeppe High School and University of the Witwatersrand. Director of Stein Bros. (Holdings) Ltd. and all subsidiaries. Executive member, Dairy Industry Control Board (appointed 1955); Chairman, S.A. Cheese Manufacturers' Association; Executive member, S.A. Creameries Association, Dairy Products Manufacturers' Association and National Council for the Dairy Industry. Council member, Witwatersrand Agricultural Society; member, Association of Chambers of Commerce of South Africa, Distribution Costs Committee. One of the founders of the Transvaal Creditors' Protection Association; served on Committee and as Director until 1963. Committee member, Sydenham-Highlands North Hebrew Congregation, 1956-62. Served on Governing Body, Balfour Park; one of the founders of Kyalami Golf and Country Club. Member, Crown Mines Golf Club, Highlands Park Football Club.
