WACKS, David. Grand Secretary, Hebrew Order of David. Born Johannesburg 1st June, 1920, son of Israel and Sarah Leah Wacks. Educated at Athlone High School. Formerly Secretary of the Information Department of the S.A. Zionist Federation (1954-64). Warden, North Eastern Hebrew Congregation, Johannesburg. Committee member, Parent Teachers' Association of the King David High School; Vice-President, Society of Israel Philately; Chairman, Camps Commission, S.A. Zionist Youth Council. Formerly Chairman, Hapoel Hamizrachi, and Vice-Chairman, S.A. Zionist Youth Council. Served with S.A. Army during World War II; saw action in Egypt with Eighth Army.
