WITKIN, Morris, M.B., Ch.B. (Edin.), M.D. (Edin.), M.R.C.P., F.R.C.P. (Edin.). Medical Officer. Born Veksna, Lithuania, 6th February, 1896; son of Aaron and Chaayeh Bloomeh Witkin. Witkin. Came to South Africa 1904. Educated at Hebrew High School, Johannesburg, University of the Witwatersrand, Cape Town University and Edinburgh University. Senior Medical Officer, Miners' Medical Bureau, Johannesburg. Previously was Child Specialist at Germiston Hospital; Senior Medical Officer at Baragwanath Hospital, Johannesburg; District Surgeon in Johannesburg and practised as a Specialist in Diseases of Children. Member of Central Orthodox Synagogue, Doornfontein. Three sons, three daughters. Author of numerous articles, mostly on medical subjects. Add.: Hotel Franklyn, Hillbrow, Johannesburg.
