WOLMAN, Israel Zelik (Izzy). Merchant. Born Wynberg, Cape, 31st January, 1924; son of Schneier and Nellie Wolman. Educated at Wynberg Boys' High School. Proprietor of men's outfitting stores also handling venetian blinds and burglar guards. Previously was a diamond cutter. President of the Claremont Hebrew Congregation, 1967, and Hon. Choirmaster of the congregation, 1966. Hon. Secretary, Wynberg Hebrew Congregation, 1944, Executive member of the Zionist Revisionist Organisation since 1964; Vice-President, B'nai B'rith, Alfred Bender Lodge, 1966; Chairman, Cape Committee, Tel Hai Fund, 1966. First Vice-President of Lions Club of Rondebosch, 1967; Founder and Past-Chairman of Ray of Light Club for the Blind; Past Master, Lodge De Goede Verwachting (Master 1951-52); and Treasurer, Lodge Kaapstad, since 1963 (both Masonic Lodges). Provincial Grand Master of Ceremonies of Provincial Grand Lodge Southern African Constitution (Masonic).
