Educated at Maitland Public School, South African College School and University of Cape Town. Joined Government Service 1934 as Clerical Assistant to Telephone Manager's Office; transferred to Department of Justice, Accounts Section, 1937. Appointed Prosecutor in Johannesburg, 1940. Appointed Deputy Attorney-General of the Transvaal, 1960; and Senior Deputy Attorney-General and Head of the Witwatersrand Local Division of the Supreme Court as from 3rd October 1966. Past President, United Hebrew Congregation of Johannesburg. Chairman of School Committee, Saxonwold Government School. Married Cecilia Ada Fainsinger, 1948; one son, David.
