ZADIKOFF, Isaac Jechiam. Specialist Surgeon, Born Tel Aviv,
Israel, 4th November, 1911, son of Lazarus and Sarah Zadikoff. Came to South
Africa 1916. Educated at Jewish Government School, Johannesburg, Jeppe High
School and Universities of the Witwatersrand and Edinburgh. Consulting Surgeon
to S.A. Railways. Hon. Consulting Surgeon to Witwatersrand Jewish Aged Home and
Springkell Sanatorium. Previously was lecturer in Surgery at the University of
the Witwatersrand, and Assistant Surgeon at the General Hospital and Children's
Hospital, Johannesburg. District Surgeon, St. John Ambulance Brigade since
1938. Member of the United Hebrew Congregation (Oxford Synagogue), and various
Jewish organisations. Past President of Lions International, Johannesburg
(1963-64). Serving Brother, Order of St. John Swimming and Soccer
"Blue", University of the Witwatersrand. Member of Wanderers Club.
During World War II served as Major in S.A.M.C., saw service in Middle East,
S.A. and on hospital ship (AMRA). Married Maureen Selby, 15th December, 1947:
one son, one daughter. Add.: 542 Chesham Road, Bryanston, Transvaal, and 116
Harley Chambers, Jeppe Street, Johannesburg.
