Former Secretary, Ophirton and Booysens Hebrew Congregation, Berea Hebrew Congregation, and Telsh Benevolent Society. Deputy to the S.A. Jewish Board of Deputies since 1928; Member, Hebrew Order of David, Dr. Herzl Lodge, since September, 1929. Member, Joseph Distiller Lodge, H.O.D.; Freemason, Lodge Zion. Member, Allenby Country Club; Bezuidenhout Park Bowling Club. Was member of the Civilian Protection Services during World War II. Married Rae Gore, 1936. Recreation: Gardening.
