Educated at South African College School, University of Cape Town and Guy's Hospital, London. Specialist Physician and Lecturer, Groote Schuur Hospital and University of Cape Town. Royal Commission for the "Exhibition of 1851". Science Research Scholar, Guy's Hospital, 1937-38. Served during World War II as Major in S.A. Medical Corps in South Africa, Egypt and Italy. One son.
