Educated at Rondebosch Boys' High School, South African College School, University of Cape Town and Guy's Hospital, London, Senior Paediatrician, Groote Schuur; Red Cross Children's Hospital, Woodstock Hospital and Peninsula Maternity Home. Consultant to Cerebral Palsy School. Member, King David Club. During World War II was Major in the S.A. Medical Corps. Married Florence Fig. 1940; one son, one daughter.
