Member of Grand Executive, Hebrew Order of David, 1960-62; 1964-66; Grand Master of Ceremonies, 1966-68. Council member, Kensington Hebrew Congregation, 1961-62, 1964-65. Member, Orchards Bowling Club. Served in South African Forces during World War II as private in 2nd Motorised Battalion, Transvaal Scottish.
