SILBERT, Isaac Barnard. Retired. Born Popelan, Lithuania, 6th April, 1896; son of Chalel and Rosie Silbert. Came to South Africa 1905. Educated at Paarl Gymnasium. Was formerly a General Dealer. Has served on committees of Paarl Hebrew Congregation and Paarl Lemaan Zion since 1914. Is a Life member of the Congregation and acts in an honorary capacity of Supervisor of the Synagogue. Served in local Commando in World War II. Married Sophie Forman, 17th November, 1928; two sons. Add.: 21 Louise Street, Paarl.
