Co-founder of former Young Judeans Society, Cape Town. For ten years was in charge of Youth Congregation of Gardens Synagogue. Former member of Young Israel Federation. Former Committee member, Cape Jewish Orphanage, Sea Point Hebrew Congregation and S.A. Jewish Ex-Service League. Member of Talmud Shiur, Gardens Synagogue and Jewish Museum. During World War II served with S.A. Air Force in Italy. Former Chairman of Cape Town Scribblers' Club and Cape Centre of the Astronomical Society of South Africa. Member, Natural History Club and South African Association for the Advancement of Science. Recreations: Reading, writing, walking, swimming. Widowed; was married to the late Margarete Feldmann.
