SLOWIK, Rabbi Rubin. Deceased. Born Warsaw, Poland, 15th April, 1901, son of Rabbi Joseph Yehudah Hacohen Slowik. Educated at Yeshivot in Warsaw and Ostrow, and received Smichas Rabbonus from famous Rabbis in Poland and Israel. Came to South Africa 1929. Chairman and Organiser in South Africa of the Beth Joseph Yeshivah in Tel Aviv. Was formerly Rabbi in Stuttgart and Leipzig. During World War II served as Special Constable in Cape Town. Has one son.
