ROGOFF, Faivel. Born Bialystock, Poland, 11th July, 1898; son of Moses and Yette Rogoff. Educated in Poland. Came to South Africa 1927 as a Textile engineer; went into business in 1947. Executive member, Council of Natal Jewry, for eight years; committee member, Jewish Education Council. for 20 years; Chairman, Yiddish Culture Section of the Durban Jewish Club, for 20 years. Vice President for a year and committee member for several years of Hebrew Order of David. Member, Durban United Hebrew Congregation, Durban Jewish Club. During World War II served in civil defence.
