ROSE, Samuel. Business Executive. Born Birmingham, England, 18th October, 1918, son of Morris and Martha Rose. Educated at Birmingham Hebrew Schools. Came to South Africa 1954. In England was director of family business; Hon. Secretary, Birmingham Jewish Public Relations Committee; Regional Defence Officer for Board of Deputies; Vice-Chairman and Hon. Secretary, Birmingham Jewish Ex- Service Association; Tree Officer, Jewish National Fund; Hon. Secretary, Birmingham Hebrew Congregation Synagogue Guild; Committee member O.R.T. World Jewish Congress, and other organisations. Since settling in South Africa has been Cultural Convenor, Scopus Club, Cape Town, 1956; foundation member and vice-Chairman, Club Sinai, 1962; Committee member, Israel Maritime League, Magen David Adom; Mizrachi Fed.
