Educated at High School and State Technical College, Hagen. Came to South Africa 1936. Owner-Director of B. Putziger (Pty.) Ltd. and Star Tools (Pty.) Ltd., Johannesburg. Past Vice-President, B'nai B'rith Lodge, Johannesburg, and delegate to S.A. Jewish Board of Deputies. Served in South African Army during World War II as Corporal in Technical Services, Artillery. Married Ilse Rosewitz, 1936; three daughters. Recreations: Music, photography, painting, philately, reading, bowling. Member Allenby Country Club.
