SACKE, Joseph Louis, Chartered Accountant (S.A.) and Company Auditor. Born in Dvinsk, Latvia, in 1901. Came to South Africa in 1905. Educated at Germiston School. Member of the S.A.P., U.P.C., and Union Clubs of Johannesburg; Secretary of the Germiston Hebrew Congregation, Chevra Kadisha, Benevolent Society, Talmud Torah, Hebrew Order of David (Max Langerman Lodge), Zionist Society, Postal Address: P.O. Box 243, Germiston.

SACKE, Joseph Louis. Died 1964. C.A. (S.A.). Chartered Accountant and Auditor. Born Dvinsk, Lithuania 15th February, 1898, son of Judel and Chisa Sacke. Came to South Africa 1904. Educated at Germiston High School, Was Secretary of United Hebrew Institutions of Germiston 1917-34; Secretary, Germiston Zionist Society 1917-28; member of Max Langerman Lodge, Germiston from 1918 to the time of his death; Secretary 1926-33 and served three times as President. Secretary, Johannesburg Branch of S.A. Jewish Ex-Service League 1960-62, and National Secretary of the League 1956-62. During World War II was member of the "Q" Services in the South African Army, rising through the ranks to Lieutenant. Married Jessie Gluckman 1934; one son.
