SANDAK - LEWIN, Simon (Sandy), F.S.A.A. (I.), B.Com., M.Com., F.A.I.A. (Lond.) F.F.C.S. (Eng.), F.I.A.C., F.A.C.S. (S.A.), M.C.I.A. (Lond.). Accountant and Auditor. Son of Herschel and Golda Sandak. Educated at Normal College and South African College Schools, Cape Town. Director of Companies, Commissioner of Oaths for the Magisterial area of the Cape. Was Senior Audit Clerk to a firm of Certified Accountants, London; in 1928 commenced practising as Public Accountant and Auditor. Vice- President of the British Society of Commerce; Registrar of the S.A. Association of Certified Secretaries; Founder, General Secretary and Treasurer of the Faculty of Accountants of South Africa; Founder of the S.A. Association of Certified Secretaries; representative in the Republic of S.A. for the Incorporated Association of Cost and Industrial Accountants (Lond.), Society of Commercial Accountants, British Society of Commerce and the Faculty of Secretaries; for many years served on the Council of the Institute of Accountants of S.A., Limited: for several years was Hon. Secretary of the Association of International Accountants (Lond.). Member of the Valkenburg Bowling Club; runner-up, Western Province Maccabi Association, final bowling tournament "Paddy" Purwitzky Cup, 1953. During World War II served with the South African Forces in 22nd Battalion C.D.C. Married, has one son and two daughters. Recreations: Bowls, swimming, walking, reading. Add.: 205 Costa Brava.
