Educated at Normal College and South African College Schools, Cape Town. Director of Companies, Commissioner of Oaths for the Magisterial area of the Cape. Was Senior Audit Clerk to a firm of Certified Accountants, London; in 1928 commenced practising as Public Accountant and Auditor. Vice- President of the British Society of Commerce; Registrar of the S.A. Association of Certified Secretaries; Founder, General Secretary and Treasurer of the Faculty of Accountants of South Africa; Founder of the S.A. Association of Certified Secretaries; representative in the Republic of S.A. for the Incorporated Association of Cost and Industrial Accountants (Lond.), Society of Commercial Accountants, British Society of Commerce and the Faculty of Secretaries; for many years served on the Council of the Institute of Accountants of S.A., Limited: for several years was Hon. Secretary of the Association of International Accountants (Lond.). Member of the Valkenburg Bowling Club; runner-up, Western Province Maccabi Association, final bowling tournament "Paddy" Purwitzky Cup, 1953.
