LEVY, Alfred Jack. Attorney. Born in Lithuania on 27th
December, 1893, son of Michael and Rebecca Levy. Arrived in South Africa 1895.
Educated at Marist Bros. College at Uitenhage and Johannesburg and at Transvaal
University College. Past President: Benoni Jewish Helping Hand and Burial
Society; United Hebrew Institutions of Benoni; Hebrew Order of David, Harry
Graumann Lodge; Honorary Life Member, United Hebrew Institutions of Benoni.
Active in Jewish communal work in Benoni for over 45 years. Member of Benoni
Municipal Bowling Club and Maccabi Sports Club. Served in National Volunteer
Brigade during World War II. Recreation: Bowls. Married Minnie Shapiro 1921;
two sons, one daughter, Add.: 114, Woburn Ave. Box 342, Benoni.
