LEVY, Herbert Marshall. Printer's Representative and Pianist. Born Johannesburg 20th January, 1914, son of Abraham Elias and Ray Levy. Educated at Jewish Government School and Commercial High School, Johannesburg. Served with the South African Forces (Signals) during World War II; taken prisoner-of-war at Gazala, Libya, 1942; escaped to Italy, 1943; recaptured by Germans; released by Russian Army, 1945.
