Came to South Africa 1936. Chairman and Managing Director, Concentra Ltd., Cape Town; Director, S.A. Fish Meal Producers' Association (Pty.) Ltd., F.S. Mendel Holdings (Pty.) Ltd., Effessem (Pty.) Ltd. In Germany was shareholder and Manager of Kahn & Co., Neuwied, Hamburg, and Carl Simonse, Altons-Hamburg, and Gebr. Haberkorn, Hamburg. Honorary Arbitrator for Fish Meal, Chamber of Commerce, Hamburg. Member, Owl Club, Netherlands Club and Stadium Bowling Club, Cape Town. Recreations: science, photography, angling and bowling.
