MENDELOWITZ, Lewis. Wool Specialist. Born Salant, Lithuania, 20th August, 1895; son of Michael and Channah Mendelowitz. Came to South Africa 1906, Educated at Old Market Street Public School. Director of five companies. Previously was wholesale tobacco merchant 1914- 1938. Member, United Hebrew Congregation (Yeoville Synagogue); Jewish Aged Home, Our Parents Home, Chevra Kadisha, Bikkur Cholim, Jewish Helping Hand Society.
