Member, Liaison Committee for the Meat Trade; chairman, Industrial Council for the Meat Trade (East London); chairman, East London Meat Traders' Association; president, S.A. Federation of Meat Traders, 1962. Member, Alexander Country Club, Typos Bowling Club, Border Rugby and Buffalo Club. Married 1938; late wife's name Martha; one son, one daughter.
