MIODOWNIK, Moshe (Max). Dip.Q.S. Building Contractor and Quantity Surveyor. Born Tel Aviv, Israel 29th May, 1927, son of Jrachmil Miodownik Came to South Africa 1930. Educated at Marist Brothers' College, Uitenhage, and University of the Witwatersrand. Managing director, Miodownik & Co. (Pty.) Ltd. Co-Treasurer of the S.A. Zionist Federation. Past President of the United Progressive Jewish Congregation of Johannesburg. Past President of the Bet El Jewish Congregation of Johannesburg. Vice- Chairman of the South African Union for Progressive Judaism 1967; member, Communal Relations and General Purposes Committees, South African Jewish Board of Deputies, since 1961. Past President of the Master Builders and Allied Trades Association (Witwatersrand); member of the National Federation of Building Trade Employers in South Africa. Member, Melrose Bowling Club.
