OSHER, David Faitel. Watchmaker and Jeweller. Born Kelem, Lithuania, 15th August, 1903, son of Jack Osher. Educated in Lithuania. Came to South Africa 1929. Has been active in the Zionist Movement since 1920, and was a member of the Maccabi organisation in Palestine from 1924-7. From 1930 has been active in fund-raising activities for Keren Kayemeth, Keren Hayesod and Israel United Appeal. Served in the Civil Defence Service in Lithuania, 1918-20, in the Hagana in Palestine from 1925-7, and in the Lithuanian Army from May, 1927 - October, 1928. Member, Balfour Park, since 1941. Married Tilly Bregman, 1929; two sons, two daughters. Recreations: Swimming, tennis, gardening. Add.: 64 Aida Avenue, Cyrildene, Johannesburg.
