Educated at Bellville Primary and Observatory Boys' High Schools. Was Auditor to the Keetmanshoop Roads Board and Deputy Sheriff of Warmbad, S.W.A. Chairman of Belville-Parow-Durbanville-Kuilsriver Maccabean Society, 1929-1933 (the first junior Zionist Society in the Tygerberg area); Secretary, Keetmanshoop Hebrew Congregation, 1935-1938: Cultural Convenor, Scopus Club, 1952. Elected Trustee 1954; representative, Bellville Hebrew Congregation on S.A. Jewish Board of Deputies, 1954- 1965, and now representative on S.A. Board of Jewish Education. Golden President, Lions Club of Bellville; President Belville Civic Association. Chairman, Board of Trustees, Wild Duck Sanctuary, Welgemoed. Served in National Reserve of Volunteers, Hottentots Holland, 1941-1945. Was Editor (Afrikaans) of the Observatory Boys' High School Magazine and Manager of "Young Israel", Keetmanshoop (first Jewish publication in S.W.A.). Was first Editor of "Scopus Scoops", Cape Town, and "Between the Lions". Bellville. Member of the Instit. Admin. and Comm. ad hoc Parliamentary Committee on Accountancy Bill.
