KERBEL, Solomon. Died 1960. Born Lithuania 26th September,
1884, son of Chanoch Kerbel. Educated in Lithuania. Came to South Africa 1898.
Director of McKechnie Bros. (Pty.) Ltd., East London, for many years. Active
communal worker in East London Jewry, notably on the Council of the East London
Hebrew Congregation and the Committee of the Chevra Kadisha. Married 1910,
wife's name Nanny; one son, three daughters.
