Chairman, Griqualand West Ezrath Zion Association; Treasurer, Griqualand West Jewish Burial Society; Committee member, Griqualand West Jewish Benevolent Society; former Committee member, Griqualand West Hebrew Congregation. Member, Pirates Rugby Football Club. During World War II served in South African Armed Forces with South African Artillery. Saw action in North Africa, at El Alamein with Eighth Army; rank Gunner.
