LEVIN, Jacob. Wholesale Merchant. Born Russia 30th March, 1878, son of Bernhard and Saran Levin. Educated in Russia. Came to South Africa 1902. Proprietor of wholesale firm trading as Lamont Bros. since 1910. Served for 42 years as a member of the Queenstown Municipal Council and was Deputy Mayor of Queenstown 1933-39. Past Chairman, Queenstown Hebrew Congregation 1910-15. Member, Queenstown Zionist Society. Member of Star in East Lodge, Queenstown since 1910; Past Master (1918), Past District Grand Warden, Eastern Division. Past Grand Standard Bearer, Grand Lodge of England.
