Managing Director of Rhodesian Timber Holdings Ltd. group. Member, Johannesburg Building Society (Johannesburg Board). Member, S.A. Timber Trades Management Committee; member of several S.A. Bureau of Standards grading and codes of practice committees. Executive member, S.A. Jewish Orphanage since 1945; President 1952-54 and 1956-58; Hon. Life President since 1955; executive member, Transvaal Jewish Welfare Council 1950-1965. Assisted in formation of the Society for the Jewish Handicapped and Society for the Jewish Deaf. During Second World War was a member of the Government Timber Purchasing Board. Member of Wanderers Club and Houghton Golf Club. Represented Transvaal at cricket, hockey and baseball, Married Naomi Rachel Lazarus, 1934; two sons, two daughters. Recreation: Golf.
