HEPKER, Victor Norman. Director of Companies. Born Bulawayo, 14th September, 1908, son of Herman and Amalie Hepker. Educated at Milton School, Bulawayo. Came to South Africa, 1920. Managing Director of Rhodesian Timber Holdings Ltd. group. Member, Johannesburg Building Society (Johannesburg Board). Member, S.A. Timber Trades Management Committee; member of several S.A. Bureau of Standards grading and codes of practice committees. Executive member, S.A. Jewish Orphanage since 1945; President 1952-54 and 1956-58; Hon. Life President since 1955; executive member, Transvaal Jewish Welfare Council 1950-1965. Assisted in formation of the Society for the Jewish Handicapped and Society for the Jewish Deaf. During Second World War was a member of the Government Timber Purchasing Board. Member of Wanderers Club and Houghton Golf Club. Represented Transvaal at cricket, hockey and baseball, Married Naomi Rachel Lazarus, 1934; two sons, two daughters. Recreation: Golf.
