Educated at Johannesburg Jewish Government School, Parys High School and Witwatersrand University. Town Engineer of Krugersdorp since 1954. Previously:- Assistant Engineer, subsequently Acting Engineer-in-Charge for the Northern Areas (Transvaal, O.F.S. and Cape Bechuanaland) of Union Native Affairs Department, 1939-43; Senior Assistant, City Engineer's Department, Pietermaritzburg, 1944-46; Senior Engineer, Vereeniging Town Engineer's Department, 1946; Town Engineer, Goodwood, 1947-51; Assistant Town Engineer, Krugersdorp, 1951-54. Member of various Committees of Council for Scientific and Industrial Research. Served for several years on Council of United Hebrew Institutions, Krugersdorp, and represented it on the S.A. Jewish Board of Deputies. Council member, Southern African Institution of Municipal Engineers. Executive member, National War Memorial Health Foundation; member of S. Transvaal Committee of the S.A. Road Federation and its Town Planning Study Group; member of Krugersdorp Rotary Club (past vice-President). Committee member, Krugersdorp Wanderers; member, West Rand Union Club. Designated key man by Government during World War II and served in National Volunteer Brigade. Married Hannah Regina Goldstone, 1943; one son, one daughter. Recreations: Swimming, walking, reading.
