HOFFMAN, Samuel Joseph. M.B., B.Ch., F.R.C.S. Consultant Urologist. Born Johannesburg 18th July, 1912, son of Gurris Isaac and Bertha Hoffman. Educated at Witwatersrand and Edinburgh Universities. Urologist to S.A.R. and H. and to Mines Benefit Society. Formerly Vice-President, Johannesburg Jewish Helping Hand and Burial Society. Member of the Houghton Golf Club. During the Second World War was a major in the S.A. Medical Corps. Married Bedda Hurwitz, 1937; one son, two daughters. Recreation: Farming and horse breeding.
