Educated at Malmesbury Boys' High School and University of Cape Town. Chairman, S.A. Zionist Federation 1959 - 1967; Vice-President S.A. Zionist Federation, since 1967. member of World Zionist General Council since 1960; President United Zionist Association, since 1959. President, S.A. Board of Deputies, 1958- 1959; Vice-President, 1956-58, and again since 1959. Chairman, 1951-56. Served in the General Service Corps in World War II with rank of Staff Sergeant.
