Israelsohn, Julius Benjamin


ISRAELSOHN, Julius Benjamin. Dip.Pharm., M.P.S., Associate of the Chemical Institute. Chemist and Druggist. Born Johannesburg, 16th August, 1917, son of Wolf and Bertha Israelsohn. Educated at Parktown Boys' High School, Witwatersrand University and Witwatersrand Technical College. President, Pharmaceutical Society (1964-65); president, S.A. Retail Chemists & Druggists' Association, 1961-64; Chairman, Pharmaceutical Trade Association 1966-68; Fellow of the Royal Society of Health; Gained Squibb International Award for outstanding service to retail pharmaceuticals, 1967. Director of numerous companies, including S.A. Druggists Ltd. Past Chairman, Transvaal Chemists' Emergency Depots. Hon. curator and chief archivist, Museum of the Pharmaceutical Society. Member of Old Parktonians. Married Stella Klein, 1946; two sons. Recreation: Gardening. Add.: 35, Cardiff Road, Parkwood, Johannesburg, and P.O. Box 3, Northlands.
