KAPLAN, Asher. (Died 1966). Turf Accountant. Born Russia, 1898, son of Abraham and Rose Kaplan. Came to South Africa 1910. Educated at Hope Mill School, Cape Town. Founder member of the Sons of Israel Society, Cape Town. Served for three years on Coastal Defence during World War II. Member of the Milnerton Golf Club and Stadium Bowling Club. Married Emmie Yeller 27th March, 1921; two sons.
