Educated in Lithuania at Yeshiva, Gymnasium, Technical High School and Polytechnic. Came to South Africa 1936. Director, Instrument Manufacturing Corporation (in charge of mechanical and electrical manufacturing divisions, design and development departments). Formerly Engineer on S.A. Railways and Engineering Consultant. Committee member, S.A. Ort-Öze, Poalei Zion and Zionist Youth Movement in Bloemfontein, 1939-44, and Committee member of same organisations in Cape Town, 1944-50. Member of Cape Council, S.A. Jewish Board of Deputies; Council member, Cape Board of Education, 1950-61; Vice-Chairman, Western Province Zionist Council; Vice-Chairman, Poalei Zion, since 1962. During World War II was key man, seconded to defence work. Married Shulamit Lewin, 1939; one son, one daughter. Recreations: Reading, chess. Add.: 27, Glencoe Road, Oranjezicht, P.O.
