Committee Member, Border Stationers Association; President of Temple Hillel, East London, for past three years; Secretary, East London Zionist Association, 1946-56. Committee Member of Zionist Association and the Border Committee of the S.A. Jewish Board of Deputies for approximately 20 to 25 years; Member, Jewish Ex-Service League, Alexander Country Club and Comrades Club. Served with the South African Forces in World War II, 1940-41; Discharged for reasons of health. Married Hannah Mankowitz, 3rd March, 1940; one son, one daughter. Recreation: Bowls.
