Member of Great Synagogue, Johannesburg; Executive member of Durban Jewish Club, 1956-1961; member of various communal organisations. National Chairman, S.A. Lumber Millers' Association, 1965-1966, and Vice-President, 1967. Member of Circle Country Club, Durban. Married Merileon Hedda Cohen, 9th January, 1963; two sons. Recreations: horse-riding, reading.
