Educated at King Edward VII School and University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. Director of Barnett's Group of Companies. Hon. Life President, S.A. Furniture Retailers' Association; member of the Council, Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce; member of the S.A. Foundation, Israeli Committee; member of the Association of Chambers of Commerce, Credit Consumer Committee. Member of the Executive Council of the S.A. Zionist Federation and chairman of its Film Sub Committee; Vice-Chairman of the "Zionist Record"; member of the Soldiers' Assistance Committee of the S.A. Jewish Board of Deputies. Chairman for three years of the Johannesburg Zionist Association. Member of the Transvaal Automobile Club and Old Edwardian Society. During the Second World War served with the S.A.
