GOLDING, Jacob. Estate Agent and Director of Companies. Born Utian, Lithuania, 16th December, 1910, son of Beril and Miriam Golding. Educated at the Yeshivot of Beli-Cherkov, Kiev, Ponevez and Slabodka. Came to South Africa 1930. Served as Minister of Prieska Hebrew Congregation 1930-32, Keetmanshoop 1932-33, Brandfort 1933-34. One of the founders and chairman for 12 years of the Valley/Observatory Hebrew Congregation, Johannesburg; one of the founders and chairman of the Utianer Society: Trustee of the United Hebrew Schools, and member since 1946. Deputy since 1945 of the S.A. Jewish Deputies; member of the Federation of Synagogues since its inception. Vice Chairman of the Cryildene/Observatory Extension Hebrew Congregation; Chairman of Hebrew School since 1962; delegate to the S.A. Zionist Federation, 1948- 66. Foundation Member of the Oldroyd Park Bowling Club. Married Sarah Perlstein 1944; two sons, one daughter by previous marriage. Recreation: Study. Add: 14 Hettie Street, Cyrildene, P.O.
