Jewish Board of Deputies since 1955; Treasurer, Transvaal Jewish Welfare Council since 1955; member of the Glendower Golf Club, Jewish Guild, Balfour Park. Served in the S.A. Intelligence Corps, 1st S.A. Division, Western Desert, during the Second World War. Married 1945, wife's name Freda; two daughters. Recreations: Golf and gardening.
