GORDON, Walter, B.A., B.Sc., B.Educ. Headmaster. Born Kimberley, 1st September, 1903, son of Solomon and Frances Gordon. Educated at S.A.C.S., Cape Town, and University of Cape Town. Headmaster, Muizenberg High School. Previously Vice-Principal and Acting Principal, Muir College, Uitenhage. Was Chairman, Uitenhage Zionist Society, 1945-50; Chairman, Uitenhage Musical and Dramatic Society, 1946- 50. Member, Muizenberg Hebrew Congregation. Commandant of Cadet Organisation. Author of "Physical Science for Junior Certificate" (1933), co-author with G. O. Neser of "A Modern Text Book of Physical Science" (1937), "Co-ordinated General Science", "Progressive General Science", "Science for Technical Schools", "Natal Schools". Translated F. A. Venter's "Swart Pelgrim" into English. Married Shiela Leah Hendler, B.A., H.E.D., 7th January, 1940; one son, one daughter. Add.: 6, Watson Road, Muizenberg.
