GREEN, Sam. Merchant. Born Pokroy, Lithuania, 15th October, 1909, son of Micha and Pesha Green. Came to South Africa, 1927. Grocer and general dealer; director of companies. Has taken an active part in Zionist work for past thirty years. Member of the Cyrildene-Observatory Synagogue, Jewish Aged Home, Jewish Orphanage, Jewish Benevolent Welfare Society, Selwyn Segal Home, Goodwill Association, etc. Member Balfour Park Club, Married the late Bessie Leigh, 1940; one son, one daughter.
