GROSS, Jacob Theodore. Director of Companies. Born Cape Town 1st July, 1904, son of Elias and Rebecca Gross. Educated at Commercial High School and Witwatersrand University. Managing Director, Balmor Hotels (Pty.) Ltd., trading as Balmoral Hotel, Durban. Formerly practised in Johannesburg as attorney, notary public and conveyancer, and later owned Gross' Vinegar Factory in Johannesburg. Served in S.A.A.F. during World War II (1940- 44); for two years was Promotions Officer for Other Ranks in S.A.A.F., W.A.A.F. and R.A.F. (in Republic). One of the founders of Old Mercurians' Association, Johannesburg; member of S.A.A.F. Association, Johannesburg. Married Maud Dorothy Harris 4th June, 1961. Add.: Balmoral Hotel, Marine Parade, P.O.
