Educated at Hutchisons Grammar School, Glasgow, Aberdeen Grammar School and George Watsons, Edinburgh. Came to South Africa 1936. Was Editor-in-Chief "Post Newspapers" & "Drum" Publications. Former Editor, Anson Press publications; former Editor, "Arthur Barlows Weekly"; former Chief Sub-Editor, "Sunday Times"; and was for some time Acting Editor of the "Sunday Express." Leader writer, "Rand Daily Mail." Past President, S.A. Society of Journalists and subsequently Acting Chairman. Executive member, South African P.E.N. Centre. Acting Chairman, Transvaal Press Club. Former Chairman, S.A. Jewish Journalists' Association. During World War II edited "On Guard," official organ of the National Volunteer Brigade. Married Liesel Weil, 1941; two sons, one daughter. Returned to England 1967 as Managing Director, Forum World Features, Kern House, 61-62 Lincolns Inn Fields London, W.C.2.
